VI SEFICT – SouthEast Europe ICT Forum, supported by Economic Chambers of former yougoslav republics and informatics societies from the region, showed increased interest and more presented informatics achievements.
For the first time these ICT manifestations were sponsored by European chamber of economy, trade and industry from Brusseles, and as it represents great impact on improvement of cooperation in the region, we got promisses that European chamber of economy, trade and industry will make great contribution to the improvement of those activities, where should be emphasized that SEFICT already growed into self-supported manifestation.
Companies Telekom Srbija a.d. – Beograd, IPR – Zagreb, Croatia, UNINET – Ljubljana, Slovenia, Sony Ericsson and Agency for electronic communications, Skopje, Macedonia had a leading contribution to these conferences.
Welcome address by vicepresident of the Government of Montenegro at the opening of the SEFICT and Congress JISA:
...INFORMATION, IDEAS and INTELLIGENCE which make part of an information society should be the leading edge in making modern information environment. Maxim: It’s not the big that eat the small… it’s the FAST that eat the slow should start all ideas if we want to follow trends and to reach the level of high- developed countries.
In Montenegro, today all schools have internet connection. In all educational programes there is information education. The future and the development of Montenegro are in young people, so we have to offer them many chances to adopt this knowledge. At the same time, the Government of Montenegro undertakes all necessery activities to establish e-governemnt. We are happy that manifestations like yours contribuite to our efforts. ICT don’t influence just education, but also economic growth and development of a country. Just good will is needed and willingnes to accept changes, and I am sure that we started with bringing it into practice. Once again, let me wish you a succesful conference and a pleasant stay in Herceg Novi.
Best Regards,
PhD Vujica Lazović |
First priority - education in ICT
European plan FP7 for the next four years (2007-2011) gives a special priority to computer literacy and demands ten times bigger investments. This influenced themes at Congress JISA and SEFICT, so papers about positive practice, improvement of IT teaching activities, teaching people with disabilities, and ECDL realization in industry. Slovenian schools had 17 presentations and they showed great interest in those themes. Of course, educational institutions from Serbia and Montenegro attracted attention with their presentations about distance learning and ECDL standard.
It has to be emphasized Technical Faculty Zrenjanin, Faculty for banking and finance Belgrade, The College for ICT, The College of railway transportation, and EBC – an ECDL internet testing center. Presentations from Montenegro were interesting, and Sanja Vujovic from Bar Explorer ECDL testing center said that in Montenegro ECDL certificate is wrote in employment record card as national accepted certificate, just like in Italy, Hungary and other countries.
Variety of interesting ICT ideas
SEFICT and Congress JISA are built upon positive examples from the practice, as an effect of DISKOBOLOS award of JISA. This year there was a big variety of ICT solutions in different branches of industry, non-industrial organizations and institutions.

Ericsson Nikola Tesla d.d. from Zagreb presented interesting e-Government solutions and S&T Serbia presented ERP solutions as the supply chain management support.
Among 80 papers that could be seen at this ICT conference in Herceg Novi, we would also like to ephasize solutions presented by Institute for informatics and internet, PTT Srbija, Telekom Srbija, Implementation CIPS Sarajevo, Anex Banjaluka, Healthcare fund of Montenegro, Srbijasume Beograd, Srbijagas Novi Sad, Institute Mihajlo Pupin Beograd – GPS object tracking, and the special attention was payed to Kranja gymnasium which presented creating of 3D animations and made a present to JISA video-clip with JISA logo.
| SONY ERICSSON - tennis tournament
Tennis tournaments supported by an ICT giant - Sony Ericsson are well-known worldwide.
For us, in Serbia, the most interesting sure was the one when in finals of Sony Ericsson ATP Masters - Miami USA, Novak Djokovic powerd past Nadal and for the first time won this award.
For informatic tennis players, the most importan tournament is JISA tournament in Herceg Novi! Sony Ericsson decided to provide for the winner new type K800 with: 3G, front internet camera for videocalls, mp3, 3,2 Megapixel camera with flash, radio, video recording with stabilizer, 16x zoom, and connections: bluetooth, infrared, modem, USB, external card, web tools (blog, e-mail) and many other useful things.
